Delete your account
You can close your SheTu account at any time, from inside the product or by writing to us. Here is how, and exactly what goes.

1From your account
Sign in, open Settings, and use “Close my account” at the foot of the page. You may give a reason; you do not have to. Your profile is hidden from search and from every other member immediately, and you are signed out.
2If you cannot sign in
Write to our support address from the email address on the account, or with your profile ID — the code beginning ST that appears on your profile. We will confirm the account is yours before we touch it, which is the same protection that stops somebody else asking for your account to be deleted.
3What happens, and when
Closing is a request rather than a button that empties everything the instant it is pressed. The hiding is immediate; a person then reviews the request and completes it. This exists because an account closed in an argument, at two in the morning, or by whoever picked up an unlocked phone takes the messages and photographs of the person on the other side of every conversation with it. You are emailed when the closure is complete.
4What is deleted
Your profile and everything on it: your photographs, your preferences, the details you entered and the record of who you were talking to. Your email address, your mobile number and any Google sign-in link are erased from the account itself, so nothing is left that points at you.
5What is kept, and why
A closed account keeps one row with no contact details in it. It is what stops a closed account being silently reopened, and it carries the payment records that tax law requires us to hold. Identity documents are not part of this: a document sent for verification is deleted within 30 days of the decision on it, whether or not the account is ever closed.
6Deleting the app is not deleting your account
Removing SheTu from your phone stops the app; it does not close the account or remove anything from our records. Use one of the two routes above.
